This bill establishes a foster care oversight subcommittee within the existing oversight commission on children's services. The new legal language inserted into RSA 21-V:10, III includes a subparagraph (f) that outlines the creation and responsibilities of the subcommittee. The subcommittee will consist of existing commission members and is tasked with providing oversight of foster care programs, reviewing their efficacy in collaboration with the office of the child advocate, and identifying best practices to recommend future legislation.

Additionally, the chair of the commission will appoint a legislative member to lead the subcommittee and select at least four other members from the commission. The chair will also determine the scope and due date for the annual report on the subcommittee's findings. The bill is set to take effect upon its passage, which is approved for May 14, 2025.
