This bill amends the existing law regarding licensing exemptions for supportive housing options for individuals with developmental disabilities. Specifically, it modifies RSA 151:2, II(a) to include a new provision that allows for a limited license exemption for facilities that provide residences to both independent individuals and those receiving services under RSA 126-A:19 and RSA 126-A:20. Additionally, the bill states that any entity providing housing to three or more individuals receiving these services is also exempt, as long as these individuals are not mandated to use the entity for personal assistance or any health-related or supportive services beyond room and board.
The bill aims to enhance housing options for individuals with disabilities by broadening the scope of facilities that can operate without a full license, thereby promoting more inclusive living arrangements. The Department of Health and Human Services has indicated that this legislation will have no fiscal impact. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
