This bill amends RSA 266:61-a, IX to allow health care providers affiliated with the Veterans Administration (VA) to certify medical accommodations for veterans residing in New Hampshire. Specifically, it permits these providers, regardless of their state of licensure, to provide the necessary medical certification or documentation required for a waiver of the requirements related to aftermarket tinting on vehicle windows. This change aims to streamline the process for veterans who need special permits for medical reasons, ensuring they can receive the necessary accommodations without being limited by state licensing restrictions.

Additionally, the bill maintains the existing framework for issuing special permits for aftermarket tinted windows, which must still comply with a minimum light transmittance of 35 percent. The commissioner retains the authority to seek advice from a designated medical review board when reviewing applications for these permits. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage, with an effective date of August 23, 2025.
