This bill mandates that police departments must provide fire departments with specific personal and insurance information of motorists involved in a motor vehicle accident. The new legal language amends RSA 260:14, VII-a(c) to include that information obtained by law enforcement, which accident participants are required to exchange, can also be shared with fire departments that respond to the accident. This information must be provided upon request by the fire department.
The bill also clarifies that the information can be shared with various parties involved in the accident, including the owner, operator, or passenger of the vehicle, pedestrians affected, and property owners, as well as their authorized legal representatives. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
