Additionally, it mandates that any agency issuing rules affecting group net metering must also ensure the inclusion of small customer-generators.

The bill defines "small customer-generator" as one whose facility has a total maximum generating capacity of not more than 100 kilowatts alternating current. It also stipulates that net metering tariffs will not be available to a customer-generator group host until the host is registered by the department, which will establish the registration process and manage changes in group membership. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
