This bill amends the current law regarding the collection of information on birth worksheets by hospitals. It updates the language to specify that the current name and maiden name will now be referred to as the name prior to first marriage or civil union. Additionally, the bill revises the intervals for reporting Apgar scores, now requiring the scores to be reported at one minute, , at five minutes , and at ten minutes. Furthermore, the bill introduces new provisions that restrict the division of vital records from including certain personally identifiable information when releasing birth information to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Specifically, it prohibits the release of the names of the mother, father, or baby, as well as their birth month and day, medical record numbers, and residential addresses. However, it allows for the release of the mother and father's birth year and the baby's birth date. The bill is set to take effect on June 30, 2026.
