This bill establishes an advisory group to study and evaluate current and potential funding sources for the construction and renovation of career and technical education (CTE) facilities. The advisory group will examine statutes, administrative rules, and funding mechanisms, with the goal of identifying feasible options for supporting CTE infrastructure projects. The group will be composed of various stakeholders, including the state director for CTE, the commissioner of education or a designee, the chancellor of the community college system of New Hampshire (CCSNH) or a designee, three regional CTE directors, a president of a CCSNH college or a designee, two district level administrators, and two representatives from business and industry.
The advisory group is tasked with exploring the feasibility of joint or co-located CTE programs between CCSNH and New Hampshire high school CTE programs associated with regional CTE centers. The group will elect a chairperson from among its members and must hold its first meeting within 45 days of the bill's effective date. A quorum for the group's meetings will require four members. The advisory group is required to report its findings and any recommendations for proposed legislation to various state education officials, committees, the governor, and the state library by May 30, 2025. The act will take effect upon its passage, with an approval date of July 26, 2024, and the same effective date.
