This bill pertains to the quarantine requirements for dogs, cats, or ferrets brought into the state for transfer. It amends RSA 437:8, IV to mandate that such animals must be held for at least 48 hours at a licensed facility or a facility operated by a licensed veterinarian, separated from other animals, before being offered for transfer. An insertion is made to include an exception as provided in RSA 437:9, V.

Additionally, the bill amends RSA 437:9, V-VI to introduce exceptions to the quarantine requirements for individual animals intended for transfer, which may allow littermates to share appropriately sized enclosures, considering age restrictions. It also includes provisions for setting limits on reasonable daily boarding and care costs for animals confiscated under RSA 644:8, IV. The previous section VI is renumbered to VII to accommodate the new insertion. The act is approved on June 14, 2024, and will take effect on August 13, 2024.
