This bill establishes a committee to study the funding and partnerships of the fish and game department. The committee is tasked with consulting with the commission and the executive director on current funding sources and budgets, considering proposals for general fund needs for department operations, and evaluating potential reorganization of responsibilities and new partnerships that align with the mission of the fish and game department. The committee will also consider revisions to RSA 206:33-c to enhance funding partnerships in areas such as outdoor recreation, land conservation, and environmental adaptation.

The committee will consist of one member of the senate, appointed by the president of the senate, and three members of the house of representatives, appointed by the speaker of the house. The members will receive mileage at the legislative rate for attending to the duties of the committee. The committee is required to elect a chairperson from among its members and must hold its first meeting within 45 days of the act's effective date. The committee is to report its findings and any recommendations for proposed legislation by November 1, 2024. The act takes effect upon its passage, with an approved date of July 26, 2024, and the same effective date.
