This bill repeals the authority of a school board to enter into a contract with a nonsectarian private school to provide education. It also establishes that a school board has a duty to provide education to a pupil until the pupil reaches 22 years of age. The bill specifies that the duty to provide education is at district expense and applies to all pupils who reside in the district, with certain exceptions for gross misconduct or refusal to conform to school rules. The bill also clarifies that the duty to provide education does not apply to pupils who have been exempted from school attendance in accordance with RSA 193:5.
