This bill requires school boards to ensure that schools in its district make lesson plans and instructional materials publicly accessible on their website. The bill defines "instructional material" as any material used for instruction, including textbooks, reading materials, videos, digital materials, websites, and other online applications. It also defines "lesson plan" as an outline of the instruction provided by a teacher for a course, including a list of instructional materials used. The bill requires school boards to ensure that lesson plans and instructional materials for each school in its district are prominently displayed on the school website, organized by subject area and grade level. The bill also requires the school board to provide access to this information by June 30 of each year and allows flexibility in determining the most effective means of compliance, such as providing templates or utilizing online collaborative software. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2024.
