This bill requires institutions of higher education approved by the higher education commission for degree granting authority to be organized as nonprofit organizations and to comply with the Higher Education Act and state and federal anti-discrimination laws. The bill adds a new paragraph to RSA 292:8-h, stating that any institution approved by the higher education commission must be a non-profit organization exempt from taxation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and comply with the institutional eligibility standards of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, 34 CFR part 600, and all applicable state and federal anti-discrimination laws. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage.
