This bill amends the Condominium Act to change the voting requirements for amending condominium bylaws or governing documents regarding the selection of a shared utility service. Currently, a 2/3 majority vote is required to make these changes. However, under this bill, not more than a simple majority vote would be required. The bill also specifies that in no case shall more than a majority vote be required to amend bylaws, budgets, or other governing documents regarding the selection and siting of a utility service or installation. The bill will take effect on January 1, 2025.
