This bill establishes a commission to study information and media literacy instruction in public schools. The commission will consist of members from the house of representatives, the senate, the New Hampshire School Library Media Association, Media Power Youth, and the Department of Education. The commission will review curriculum standards, evaluate resources and training for educators, examine best practices, identify challenges and barriers, and compare New Hampshire's efforts to those of other states. The commission will report its findings and recommendations to various government officials and issue a public report by November 1, 2024.

This bill also repeals RSA 189:70-a, which is the current law regarding a commission to study information and media literacy instruction in public schools. The repeal will take effect on November 1, 2024. The rest of the bill will take effect upon its passage.
