This bill removes the statute of limitations for civil actions for damages resulting from a PFAS exposure. The current law states that a civil action must be brought within 6 years after the plaintiff discovers or should have discovered the harm, injury, or damages caused by PFAS exposure. The bill removes this limitation and allows a civil action to be brought at any time after the plaintiff or the state discovers the harm, injury, or damages and the causal relationship to an act or omission.

The effective date of this bill is January 1, 2025.
