This bill amends current law regarding the use of tree stands and game cameras on private property. It allows for the erection of a portable or temporary tree stand from August 1 to June 1, instead of the previous timeframe of April 25 to June 1 and August 1 to December 31. The tree stands must be removed from the property by June 1, unless the property owner grants permission for them to remain. The bill also requires that all tree stands or observation blinds be labeled with the name and contact information of the owner.

Additionally, the bill allows for the placement of game cameras on a property with the owner's permission. It specifies that written landowner permission is required for the use of game cameras on private land, unless the camera is being used by fish and game department staff or other persons holding a scientific permit. The bill also clarifies that the use of game cameras is not prohibited if it is done in accordance with a warrant or with written landowner permission. The bill will take effect on August 1, 2024.
