This bill amends RSA 3:2 to change the design of the New Hampshire state flag. The new design includes a blue field with the state seal in the center, surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves with nine stars interspersed. The flag also includes the words of New Hampshire's state motto, "Live Free or Die," centered just below the state seal. The state seal, motto, and laurel leaves are all in the same color. The font used for the motto is Times New Roman, and the motto appears in sufficient size and proportion to the state seal. The bill also allows for a phased-in transition to the new flag design over a 5-year period to use up existing stocks of old flags. The effective date of the bill is 60 days after its passage.
