This bill establishes a committee to study the protection of business operators against requests to accommodate customers with fraudulent or untrained service animals. The committee will consist of three members of the House of Representatives and three members of the Senate, who will be appointed by the respective leaders of each chamber. The committee will study the issue and report its findings and any recommendations for proposed legislation by November 1, 2024.

The committee will elect a chairperson from among its members, and the first meeting of the committee must be held within 45 days of the effective date of the bill. Four members of the committee will constitute a quorum. The committee members will receive mileage at the legislative rate when attending to the duties of the committee. The bill will take effect upon its passage.
