This bill expands the ability of certain nurse practitioners and other medical personnel to practice in youth camps, organized recreation, and community-sponsored recreation settings. It amends RSA 326-B by adding a new section that allows the office of professional licensure and certification to issue licenses to: 1) registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs) who were previously licensed in New Hampshire within the last three years but whose licenses are no longer active, provided their licenses were in good standing and they are current with continuing education; 2) RNs or LPNs previously licensed in another jurisdiction within the last three years under similar conditions; and 3) senior nursing students scheduled to graduate within five months from the date of application, who are employed by or providing healthcare services under the supervision of a licensed healthcare facility or provider.

The bill specifies that applicants in good standing may include those with non-disciplinary conditions but excludes those whose licenses have been revoked, canceled, surrendered, suspended, denied, or subject to disciplinary restrictions. All individuals licensed under this section will be subject to the jurisdiction of the state licensing body for their profession. The office of professional licensure and certification may issue guidance on the licensing process, which will be posted on the board's website. The bill includes a contingency that if SB 83 of the 2023 legislative session becomes law, the new section will be renumbered. The act is effective as of June 07, 2023.
