This bill adds a definition of "abandonment" to the protective services for adults subdivision of RSA 161-F on elderly and adult services. The new definition states that abandonment refers to leaving a vulnerable person who is dependent on another person for assistance when being discharged from a health care facility. This could include a next of kin or family member refusing to provide assistance in complying with discharge orders from a health care facility. The bill does not have a fiscal impact at this time.
