The resolution proposes an interim study to evaluate the Licensing of Truth and Deception Examiners Act and its associated regulations, in alignment with the goals of the Occupational Board Reform Act. The study aims to assess whether the current regulatory framework effectively protects consumers from significant risks while also safeguarding individuals' rights to pursue lawful occupations. It will consider if the existing regulations are the least restrictive means necessary, promote competition, and encourage innovation, as well as whether they should be revised to align with the principles outlined in the Occupational Board Reform Act.

The Government, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee of the Nebraska Legislature is tasked with conducting this interim study. Upon completion, the committee is required to report its findings and recommendations to the Legislative Council or the Legislature, ensuring that the evaluation of the truth and deception examiners' licensing is thorough and constructive.
