The resolution recognizes Avery Arens of Crofton High School for her outstanding achievement in the 2025 NSAA Class D Girls State Cross Country Championships held in Kearney, Nebraska, on October 24. Arens set a new record for the five-kilometer race with a time of 17:28, surpassing the previous record of 17:57, and earned the individual state title. Following her victory, she demonstrated commendable sportsmanship by encouraging her teammates as they approached the finish line.

In light of her accomplishments and dedication to both her sport and her fellow athletes, the Nebraska Legislature formally congratulates Avery Arens. The resolution also calls for copies to be sent to her and Crofton High School to acknowledge her significant contributions to the state's youth in athletics.
