The Nebraska Tribal College Investment Act is proposed legislation aimed at enhancing educational opportunities at Nebraska tribal colleges, defined as 1994 Institutions under federal law. The Act establishes a framework for providing grants to these colleges, enabling them to partner with the private sector to increase access to high-demand educational programs. Eligible tribal colleges can apply for matching grants from the Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education during a specified application period, contingent upon demonstrating newly committed private funding.

Additionally, the Act creates the Nebraska Tribal College Investment Act Fund, which will be funded through legislative transfers and various grants or donations. This fund will be managed by the Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education and is intended to support the grant program outlined in the Act. The Commission is also empowered to establish rules and regulations necessary for the implementation of the Act.
