This bill amends sections 72-2205 and 79-708 of the Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska to mandate that state agencies and political subdivisions purchase flags made entirely in the United States. Specifically, beginning January 1, 2027, public funds cannot be used to acquire flags of the United States or the State of Nebraska unless they are 100% manufactured in the U.S. from domestically sourced materials. The bill also clarifies definitions for "political subdivision" and "state agency" and exempts the purchase of hand-held flags or flags smaller than specified dimensions from this requirement.

Additionally, the bill requires the administrator responsible for the State Capitol to comply with this new flag acquisition mandate when obtaining flags for display. The governing bodies of schools are also instructed to adhere to this requirement when providing suitable flags and flagstaffs. The original sections 72-2205 and 79-708 are repealed as part of this legislative update.
