This bill amends the appropriations for the Department of Economic Development as outlined in Laws 2025, LB261, section 245. Notably, it increases the Cash Fund appropriation for FY2026-27 from $19,023,140 to $25,023,140, and adjusts the total program funding from $82,598,164 to $88,598,164 for the same fiscal year. Additionally, the bill specifies that the Cash Fund appropriation for FY2026-27 will now be $27,671,030, up from the previous amount of $21,671,030.
The bill also includes provisions for various aid programs, maintaining funding levels for mentorship programs aimed at improving reading levels for elementary students and for development districts. It allocates $700,000 in General Funds for both FY2025-26 and FY2026-27 for these districts, as well as $4,880,762 in General Funds for mentorship programs in each fiscal year. Furthermore, it reappropriates unexpended Cash Fund balances for specific housing investment acts. The original section of the law is repealed as part of this amendment.
