This bill amends section 38-1201 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024, to enhance the Emergency Medical Services Practice Act by introducing new billing requirements for emergency care providers. Specifically, it stipulates that emergency care providers must certify that they maintain and implement a billing policy for services, which includes submitting claims to public or private third-party payors when appropriate, in order to be eligible for state-funded emergency medical services grant assistance.

Additionally, the bill defines "billing for services" as the regular submission of claims for reimbursement to Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurers, or legally responsible third-party payors for both emergency and non-emergency medical services provided by the emergency care provider. The original section 38-1201 is repealed as part of this legislative update.
