This bill amends section 73-815 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024, concerning the requirements for emergency contracts under the State Procurement Act. In such cases, approval from the state agency director or their designee is necessary. The bill introduces a requirement for the state agency to provide copies of the contract and justification for the emergency to both the Director of Administrative Services and the Auditor of Public Accounts within three business days following contract approval. Additionally, the state agency is mandated to keep a copy of the justification with the contract in its files, while the Director of Administrative Services is responsible for maintaining a complete record of these sole source contracts. The original section 73-815 is repealed as part of this legislative update.
