This bill amends the Grain Warehouse Act in Nebraska by updating sections related to licensing requirements and annual fees for warehouses. It introduces a streamlined licensing process for warehouse operators who already hold a valid license under the United States Warehouse Act, allowing them to apply for a Nebraska license with reduced application and oversight requirements. Additionally, the bill establishes that the annual license fee will be set by the commission but cannot exceed the fees outlined in the 2025/2026 Rates Charged for AMS Services notice, which is published by the Agricultural Marketing Service of the United States Department of Agriculture.

Furthermore, the bill clarifies that warehouses licensed under the United States Warehouse Act are still subject to certain notification requirements to the Nebraska commission, including annual updates and immediate notification if their license is terminated. It also prohibits the use of specific grain sampling methods that utilize vacuum probes for determining foreign material content, with violations classified as a Class I misdemeanor. The original sections of the law being amended are repealed, ensuring that the new provisions take effect.
