This bill amends the Nebraska Affordable Housing Act by updating section 58-701 of the Revised Statutes Supplement, 2025. It introduces new definitions and requirements for multifamily housing projects seeking assistance from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Specifically, the bill defines "accessible" in accordance with federal regulations and clarifies that a "multifamily housing project" consists of residential structures with five or more dwelling units.

Furthermore, the bill stipulates that, starting from its effective date, the Department of Economic Development must ensure that at least twenty percent of the dwelling units in a multifamily housing project are accessible for individuals with mobility impairments, and at least ten percent are accessible for those with hearing or vision impairments. The original section 58-701 is repealed as part of this legislative update.
