This bill mandates the Nebraska State Patrol to conduct a comprehensive study aimed at enhancing the state's criminal justice resources for reporting and identifying missing Black women and children in Nebraska. The Patrol is required to collaborate with the Commission on African American Affairs, local law enforcement, federal agencies, and community organizations to assess the extent of the issue, identify barriers, and foster partnerships that will improve the reporting and investigation processes.

Additionally, the Nebraska State Patrol is tasked with working alongside the United States Department of Justice to enhance information sharing and resource coordination. By June 1, 2027, the Patrol must submit an electronic report to the Executive Board of the Legislative Council detailing the findings of the study, which should include data on the number of missing Black women and children, an analysis of the barriers to resource provision, and recommendations for legislative improvements to address these issues.
