This bill amends section 38-1001 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024, to establish a temporary event license for body artists attending specific events. The Department of Health and Human Services is tasked with creating and issuing this nonrenewable license, which allows individuals to practice body art for up to seven consecutive days within a licensed body art facility. To qualify for the event license, applicants must hold a valid, unrestricted license from another state and submit various documents, including a completed application form, proof of age, a copy of their body art license, and a sponsorship letter from a licensed facility or event organizer.
Additionally, the bill stipulates that the department may charge a fee of up to fifty dollars for the issuance of the event license, which will be credited to the Professional and Occupational Cash Credentialing Fund. The department is also authorized to inspect body art facilities to ensure compliance with the new regulations, and violations will incur penalties similar to those for permanent license holders under the Uniform Credentialing Act. The original section 38-1001 is repealed, and the act is set to take effect immediately upon passage and approval.
