The resolution recognizes and congratulates Ridge Lovett for his outstanding achievement in winning the 149-pound National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Wrestling Championship held in 2025 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lovett, representing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, triumphed over the number one seed, Caleb Henson of Virginia Tech, marking a significant milestone as he became the first national champion for the university since 2011. In addition to his championship title, Lovett is also celebrated for being the 2025 Big Ten Champion and a four-time NCAA All-American.

Beyond his athletic accomplishments, the resolution highlights Lovett's commitment to community service, noting his active involvement with his church and local projects, as well as his coaching role with Team Real Life, an outreach ministry he has been associated with since childhood. The Nebraska Legislature expresses its pride in the achievements of the state's youth, and as part of this resolution, a copy will be sent to Ridge Lovett to commemorate his success.
