The Nebraska State Legislature has passed Legislative Resolution 37 to recognize and congratulate Tony Palmer, a wrestler from South Sioux City High School, for his remarkable achievement in the 2025 Nebraska School Activities Association State Wrestling Tournament. The tournament took place from February 20 to February 22 at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, where Tony secured the Boys Class A 215-pound State Wrestling Championship by defeating Jaeden Thompson of Norfolk with a pin in just 1 minute and 23 seconds. With an impressive season record of 52-1, Tony has also established himself as a four-time medalist, having previously won gold in the 2024 Class B 215-pound championship match.
The resolution highlights the importance of recognizing the athletic accomplishments of youth in Nebraska and expresses the Legislature's pride in Tony's success. In addition to congratulating him, the resolution mandates that copies be sent to both Tony Palmer and South Sioux City High School to commemorate this significant achievement.
