The resolution honors the life and service of Kyle McAcy, a dedicated officer of the Nebraska State Patrol who tragically passed away at the age of 31 following a traffic incident. Kyle's commitment to law enforcement began early, as he participated in the Omaha Police Department's Police Explorer Program and the Nebraska State Patrol's Junior Law Cadet program. He graduated from Nebraska State Patrol Camp 56 in 2015 and served a decade in various roles, including Carrier Enforcement, the Patrol Division, and as a Crisis Negotiator. His contributions extended beyond his official duties, as he actively engaged with the community through the Police Athletics for Community Engagement (PACE) program.

In recognition of his dedication and service, the Nebraska State Patrol will retire Kyle McAcy's badge number 302, ensuring that he will always be remembered in this capacity. The resolution expresses the Legislature's condolences to Kyle's family, friends, and fellow officers, and it mandates that a copy of the resolution be sent to his family as a gesture of support during this difficult time.
