Ken Stinson, the Chairman Emeritus of Peter Kiewit Sons' Inc., is being recognized for his distinguished career in the construction and engineering industry, as well as his extensive community involvement and leadership in various projects that have positively impacted the state.

Stinson's impressive background includes a civil engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame, military service in the U.S. Navy, and a master's degree from Stanford University. He joined Kiewit in 1969 and rose through the ranks to become CEO before retiring in 2013. His leadership has been instrumental in numerous community projects, including the transformation of the Aksarben race track and the development of the CHI Arena and Convention Center. Stinson's commitment to public service and innovation has earned him respect and recognition, and the resolution expresses the Legislature's gratitude for his contributions to Nebraska.
