Stinson with the NEBRASKAlander Award, which will be presented by the NEBRASKAland Foundation on March 1, 2025, during the annual Statehood Day Dinner at the Nebraska State Capitol. Stinson's impressive background includes a civil engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame, military service in the U.S. Navy, and a master's degree from Stanford University. He joined Kiewit in 1969 and rose through the ranks to become CEO before retiring in 2013. His leadership has been instrumental in numerous community initiatives, including the development of Aksarben Village and the CHI Arena and Convention Center. Additionally, he has held various prestigious roles, such as trustee emeritus at Notre Dame and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. The resolution expresses the Legislature's gratitude for Stinson's contributions to Nebraska and extends congratulations on receiving the award.
