The Nebraska Legislature has passed a resolution to honor Kenneth E. Stinson with the NEBRASKAlander Award, which will be presented by the NEBRASKAland Foundation on March 1, 2025, during the annual Statehood Day Dinner at the Nebraska State Capitol. This award recognizes Nebraskans who have made significant contributions through innovative business practices, public service, or philanthropy. Stinson, the Chairman Emeritus of Peter Kiewit Sons' Inc., has had a distinguished career in the construction and engineering industry, leading one of North America's largest organizations and contributing to numerous community projects in Nebraska.

Stinson's impressive background includes a civil engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame, military service in the U.S. Navy, and advanced education from Stanford University. He joined Kiewit in 1969 and rose through the ranks to become CEO before retiring in 2013. His leadership has extended beyond his professional career, as he has played pivotal roles in various community initiatives, including the development of Aksarben Village and the CHI Arena and Convention Center. The resolution expresses the Legislature's gratitude for Stinson's dedication to innovation and public service, and a copy will be sent to him as a token of appreciation.
