The resolution honors the memory of Kyle McAcy, a dedicated officer of the Nebraska State Patrol who tragically passed away at the age of 31 following a traffic incident on February 17, 2025. Kyle's commitment to law enforcement began early in his life, as he participated in the Omaha Police Department's Police Explorer Program and the Nebraska State Patrol's Junior Law Cadet program. He graduated from Nebraska State Patrol Camp 56 in 2015 and served a decade in various roles, including Carrier Enforcement, Patrol Division, range officer, and Crisis Negotiator, while also engaging with the community through volunteer work.

In recognition of his service and dedication, the Nebraska State Patrol will retire his badge number 302, ensuring that he is remembered for his contributions to public safety. The resolution expresses condolences to Kyle's family, friends, and fellow officers, and mandates that a copy of the resolution be sent to his family as a gesture of support and remembrance from the Nebraska Legislature.
