This bill amends the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act by introducing a new provision that limits contributions to candidate committees. Specifically, it establishes that no individual may contribute more than one thousand dollars to a candidate committee during an election period, which is defined as the calendar year of the election. If a contribution exceeds this limit, the candidate committee is required to refund the excess amount within ten days of receipt and report the details of the contribution, including the contributor's name, address, amount, and dates of receipt and return.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that this contribution limit does not apply to a candidate's own personal funds contributed to their committee. The original section of the law being amended is repealed, and the new language is intended to enhance transparency and accountability in political contributions within Nebraska.
