This bill amends section 24-514 of the Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska to require the state to cover fifty percent of the operational costs of county courts. The state will pay these costs using funds appropriated to the Supreme Court, which includes all salaries, benefits, and expenses related to the education and travel of judges and employees of the county courts. The bill specifies that the operational costs covered by the state will include various expenses previously listed in the law, such as computer hardware and software for data processing and communication line costs.

Additionally, the bill removes the requirement for counties to pay for certain expenses related to county courts, stating that any county court expense not covered by the state will be the responsibility of the county. It also clarifies that all property purchased by the county as a county court expense will remain the property of the county, regardless of the purchase date. The original section 24-514 is repealed as part of this legislative update.
