The bill amends the Uniform Civil Remedies for Unauthorized Disclosure of Intimate Images Act by redefining key terms and expanding the scope of liability for unauthorized disclosures. Notably, it includes provisions for images created through computer generation or digital manipulation, thereby broadening the definition of "depicted individual" to encompass those represented in such images. The definition of "private" is also updated to include images created by means of computer generation or digital manipulation without the consent of the depicted individual, in addition to existing criteria related to reasonable expectations of privacy and unauthorized access.

Furthermore, the bill clarifies that a depicted individual retains a reasonable expectation of privacy regarding intimate images, even if those images were created in public settings, as long as they did not consent to the sexual conduct or exposure depicted. The legislation aims to strengthen protections against the unauthorized disclosure of intimate images, ensuring that individuals have recourse if their privacy is violated through intentional or reckless actions by others. The original sections of the law are repealed to incorporate these updates.
