This bill amends the Medical Assistance Act in Nebraska to require the Department of Health and Human Services to provide coverage and reimbursement for self-measure blood pressure monitoring services for all individuals eligible under the medical assistance program by January 1, 2026. The coverage will include a validated blood pressure monitoring device, appropriately sized cuffs, patient education and training on the use of the device, and the collection of data reports for communication with healthcare providers to assist in managing hypertension.
Additionally, the bill repeals the original section 68-911 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024. The new provisions aim to enhance healthcare access and management for individuals with hypertension, ensuring they have the necessary tools and support to monitor their blood pressure effectively.
