This bill amends section 71-3306 of the Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska to provide regulations regarding the addition of fluoride to water supplies. It eliminates the previous requirement for fluoride to be added to water, allowing public or private entities that supply water for human consumption the option to add fluoride at their discretion, following the guidelines set by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Additionally, the bill repeals the original section 71-3306 and outright repeals section 71-3305 of the Revised Statutes Cumulative Supplement, 2024. These changes aim to harmonize the provisions related to fluoride in water supplies, giving entities more flexibility in their water treatment processes.
