This bill establishes new requirements for pelvic examinations performed on patients who are anesthetized or unconscious in hospitals or medical clinics. Specifically, it prohibits health care providers from conducting such examinations without prior written consent, except in certain circumstances: if an authorized individual consents, if the examination is necessary for emergency diagnostic or treatment purposes, or if a court orders the examination for evidence collection.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that health care providers who violate these provisions may face disciplinary action under the Uniform Credentialing Act. Furthermore, if a pelvic examination is performed on an unconscious or anesthetized patient, the patient must be notified in writing of the examination prior to their discharge from the facility.
