This bill amends section 2-3224 of the Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska to allow natural resources districts to disburse funds through electronic payment systems, in addition to traditional methods such as checks and drafts. The new legal language specifies that funds can be paid out only with the authorization of the board of directors and can now include electronic funds transfers and automated clearinghouse transfers as valid methods of payment.

Additionally, the bill clarifies the requirements for the treasurer's authorization for others to sign on their behalf, stating that such authorization must be in writing and filed with the district's secretary. It also mandates that if the treasurer's bond does not cover losses from unauthorized acts by those authorized to sign, a corporate surety bond must be procured and filed. The original section 2-3224 is repealed as part of this legislative update.
