The new language specifies that individuals acting independently with their own resources are exempt from the disclaimer requirements, while candidates who pay for their own campaign materials must include a disclaimer with their name and address or post office box number. Additionally, the bill mandates that radio and television stations retain the candidate's address for at least six months and provide it upon request.

The bill also clarifies the size and placement of disclaimers, which will be determined by rules and regulations set by the commission. Certain items, such as windshield stickers and campaign buttons, may be exempt from these disclaimer requirements. Furthermore, the bill establishes that knowingly violating these provisions constitutes a Class IV misdemeanor. The original section 49-1474.01 is repealed as part of this legislative update.
