1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to political subdivisions; to define a term;
2 and to provide annual salary limitations for certain elected
3 officials.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. (1) For purposes of this section, legislative body of a
2 political subdivision means the board, commission, council, or other
3 entity which holds the legislative power of the political subdivision and
4 which is composed of members who are elected by the registered voters
5 residing in the area it serves or a portion of such area.
6 (2) A political subdivision shall not pay any elected member of the
7 legislative body of the political subdivision an annual salary that is:
8 (a) More than two times the annual salary of a member of the
9 Legislature if such elected member of the legislative body of the
10 political subdivision serves on a part-time basis; or
11 (b) More than three times the annual salary of a member of the
12 Legislature if such elected member of the legislative body of the
13 political subdivision serves on a full-time basis.
