1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to bonds; to amend section 14-527, Reissue
2 Revised Statutes of Nebraska; to change provisions relating to the
3 issuance of bonds in a city of the metropolitan class; and to repeal
4 the original section.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 14-527, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, is
2 amended to read:
3 14-527 Bonds of a city of the metropolitan class shall not be issued
4 without a vote of the registered voters electors in the manner provided
5 for in sections 14-101 to 14-2004 for any bond or series of bonds for a
6 particular project in excess of eighty million dollars except to finance
7 the following which may be issued by the city council without such vote:
8 (1) Street improvements, grading, renewal, or refunding; (2) police
9 stations, not to exceed one hundred thousand dollars in any one year; (3)
10 parks, not to exceed one hundred thousand dollars in any one year; (4)
11 sewers, not to exceed five hundred thousand dollars in any one year; (5)
12 public comfort stations, not to exceed fifty thousand dollars in any one
13 year; (6) fire stations, not to exceed thirty thousand dollars in any one
14 year; and (7) acquisition of existing utility systems or plants by
15 condemnation proceedings.
16 Sec. 2. Original section 14-527, Reissue Revised Statutes of
17 Nebraska, is repealed.
