1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to appropriate Federal
2 Funds to the Department of Natural Resources; and to declare an
3 emergency.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated $20,000,000 from Federal
2 Funds for FY2023-24 to the Department of Natural Resources, for Program
3 314, for the purpose of providing state aid for a grant to a city of the
4 first class located in a county with less than twenty thousand
5 inhabitants which is located in a metropolitan statistical area, as
6 defined in section 18-803, with more than three hundred thousand
7 inhabitants for the purpose of funding a portion of the cost of a
8 wastewater system.
9 The Federal Funds appropriated in this section are from the
10 unexpended and unencumbered appropriation balances of the Federal Funds
11 allocated to the State of Nebraska from the federal Coronavirus State
12 Fiscal Recovery Fund pursuant to the federal American Rescue Plan Act of
13 2021, 42 U.S.C. 802, as amended.
14 Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
15 passed and approved according to law.
