1 Section 1. Laws 2023, LB814, section 226, is amended to read:
2 Sec. 226. AGENCY NO. 65 — DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

10 There is included in the appropriation to this program for FY2024-25
11 $5,000,000 General Funds, which shall be used for providing for
12 interoperable communication between volunteer departments as defined in
13 section 35-901 through a grant program. Grants shall be used to provide
14 mobile radios, programming, and installation of radios and equipment and
15 shall be made on a one-to-one match for local funds committed to
16 providing for interoperability. An applicant receiving a grant under this
17 section shall not be awarded more than $3,500,000.
18 There is included in the appropriation to this program for FY2023-24
19 $5,000,000 Revolving Funds, which shall be used for the following
20 purposes:
21 (1) Establishing interoperable communications between state agencies
22 and volunteer departments as defined in section 35-901, by providing
23 portable and mobile radios, programming, and installation of all radios
24 and equipment; and
25 (2) Training for interoperability with the Statewide Radio System to
26 connect volunteer departments and agencies to the Statewide Radio System
27 through a grant program. Eligibility for such program shall be based on
28 the number and type of radios required for each volunteer department
29 based upon such department's needs and size. The office of the Chief
30 Information Officer shall not charge any subscription, programming, or
31 training fee for any volunteer department connected to the Statewide

1 Radio System after receiving a grant from the program.
2 Sec. 2. Original Laws 2023, LB814, section 226, is repealed.
