1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to appropriations; to appropriate funds to the
2 Department of Labor to provide grants for facility expansion
3 relating to workforce development and career readiness programs; and
4 to declare an emergency.
5 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. There is hereby appropriated $2,000,000 from the General
2 Fund for FY2024-25 to the Department of Labor, for Program 31, to provide
3 grants for workforce development and career readiness. The grant funds
4 shall be used for facility expansion to include more participants in
5 workforce development and career readiness programs. To be eligible for
6 such grant funds, the applicant shall demonstrate a one-to-one match of
7 private funding for the facility expansion. The grant funds shall be
8 evenly distributed between the Nebraska congressional districts.
9 Sec. 2. Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
10 passed and approved according to law.
