1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to the Motor Vehicle Industry Regulation Act;
2 to amend section 60-1401.24, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska;
3 to redefine manufacturer; and to repeal the original section.
4 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1 Section 1. Section 60-1401.24, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska,
2 is amended to read:
3 60-1401.24 (1) Manufacturer means any person, whether a resident or
4 nonresident of this state, who is engaged in the business of
5 distributing, manufacturing, or assembling a line-make of new motor
6 vehicles, trailers, or motorcycles, and includes any such person who
7 distributes such motor vehicles, trailers, or motorcycles them directly
8 or indirectly through one or more distributors to one or more new motor
9 vehicle, trailer, or motorcycle dealers in this state.
10 (2) Manufacturer and also has the same meaning as the term
11 franchisor.
12 (3) Manufacturer also includes a central or principal sales
13 corporation or other entity through which, by contractual agreement or
14 otherwise, a manufacturer distributes its products.
15 Sec. 2. Original section 60-1401.24, Reissue Revised Statutes of
16 Nebraska, is repealed.
